What I’m looking for: Enter Slaughter Academy! Looking for 90s YA Horror (think Fear Street, Goosebumps, Terror Academy, Christopher Pike - Spooksville, Bone Chillers, VC Andrews, RL Stine, Point Horror) but with a splattery twist. No extreme…keep it in the YA category. Capture that 90s nostalgic feel, but turn it up a notch with gore and terror! Think spring break trips, summer vacations, summer camp, sleepovers, obsessive/stalker scenarios...Any ya cliche tropes, but make it bloodier!
Email your submission: submissions@slaughterhousepress.net
**Important note: This will be a blind and unbiased acceptance process. A third party will be the only person who has access to the submission emails. If your submission meets all basic guidelines and formatting requirements, they will send me the story without an author name attached. We will be using a numbers system to keep track of authors and manuscripts. If I decide to accept the story into the anthology, only then will they provide me with the author’s name. If I don’t accept the story, I will never know who wrote it. This ensures that I won’t be choosing submitted stories based on friendships or favoritism. Instead, stories will make it into the anthology based on merit alone. Please do not message me asking if I’ve read your submission. I won’t know if I’ve read your submission unless it gets accepted.
If any requirements or guidelines are ignored, if your manuscript is sent to the incorrect email address, or if I get excessive messages asking if I’ve read your story - your submission will be automatically rejected without being read.
